Sylvia Stein

Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer

As SVP and Chief Legal Officer, Sylvia leads Veralto’s legal and compliance function and advises on a wide range of strategic and operational issues, including the company’s environment, social impact, and governance (ESG) commitments. She also oversees Veralto’s environment, health, and safety (EHS) function and advises the board of directors on corporate governance.

Sylvia joins Veralto from Modine Manufacturing Company, where she served as Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Compliance Officer, providing counsel to the executive management team and board of directors on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, ESG, intellectual property, M&A, litigation, and government affairs. She led the publication of the company’s first two ESG reports and subsequent expansion of its ESG governance, planning, and reporting. She previously served in a variety of roles at Kraft Foods, including Associate General Counsel, Marketing & Regulatory. Earlier in her career, she practiced law in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins in the Complex Commercial Litigation group, following a federal district court clerkship.

Sylvia serves as a non-executive director and a member of the governance and audit committees on the board of Luxfer Holdings PLC, an NYSE-listed global manufacturer. She has a long history of membership in various non-profit organizations, mostly related to legal services for underserved communities, juvenile justice, and legal education and pipeline programs for underrepresented populations. She has been active with the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Chicago Metropolitan Chapter, Just the Beginning – A Pipeline Organization, the Westside Justice Center, Legal Action Chicago, and the Association of Corporate Counsel. She is also the executive sponsor of the Black + Friends Associate Resource Group at Veralto.

Sylvia holds a BA in Economics from Northwestern University and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School. She and her husband live in Illinois and are moving to the Boston area.
